Frequently asked questions.
What is your new patient procedure?
All new patients will first schedule a complimentary discovery visit. This will allow us to discuss your condition and how we can help. Afterward, patients will schedule a one-hour exam, which may include treatment on the first visit. Following the exam, we will create a treatment plan together and find something that fits both your schedule and your condition.
I'm already seeing another chiropractor, why would I come see you?
That’s great news! We still encourage you to come in for a free discovery visit to see if we are a better fit for your complaints. The truth is that most chiropractors do about 10% of what we do at AWC. In addition to what a 'typical' chiropractor may do, we offer many other services like soft tissue treatment, exercise programming, and movement training + rehab.
Do I have to get adjusted? Do you have to adjust my neck?
Of course not! An adjustment can be beneficial, but we have many other techniques and protocols that we can use to get the results that you need!
You talk so much about exercise. What does that have to do with chiropractic?
I believe that proper exercise is often the BEST form of medicine for anyone. Most people in pain will benefit from the 'mixed' approach of chiropractic care and proper exercise.
What type of patients do you work with?
1) Active adults in pain while exercising who are looking to continue doing so, pain-free.
2) Those worried they won’t be able to do their favorite activities as they age.
3) Serious professional/collegiate/high school athletes looking to get an edge on their competition.
5) People who take their health very seriously and are looking for ways to take their body to the next level.
What should I wear to my Appointment?
To make this simple and easy, we ask patients to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (i.e. gym wear) for most treatments and tank-tops/ shorts for treatment of the upper back, shoulders, and knee.
My other chiropractor lays me on the table, cracks my back and I leave. Is that what you do?
No. In fact, this is about as far from what we do as possible. We will spend time working on you, doing hands-on treatment but also expect that you are willing to learn and move your body!
